Hi guys! It's been so long since I last blogged (despite my wonderful idea to make a weekly list of things I'm excited about--I should have known I would forget!) that I thought I would briefly check in :) after all, what else would I do when I have a mountain of English homework to do?
Some exciting things: I'm officially an English major now! It makes me feel more like an actual student now that I have a major and thus, a ticket to graduate. I've also just signed up for the LSJ (Law, Societies, and Justice Minor) and am going to be minoring in that as well. I wish I had time to add a double major to the list, but I just don't see it happening : / we'll see though!
I'm trying to set aside more time for school, not only doing homework but just to think about what I'm doing and try and go above and beyond. I've recently decided that I really want to go to law school, and I'm really excited about the idea of my education and thoughts growing--you know?
But notice how I say I'm "trying" to set aside time. Of course I end up perusing my celebrity gossip and style blogs, or watching How I Met Your Mother. But at least I'm trying ; )
I should probably get back to what I'm doing right now: trying to get some homework done, listening to me and my friend's latest music obsession: the local and adorable Carson Henley, and facing the temptation of the cookies our sorority's chef just made.
Love,

Things I'm Excited About (A Week in Review)
Maybe I'll make this a weekly thing!
1) One of my best friends coming to visit, very soon!
2) Rooney Mara in Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Every since she debuted her new look I've been, well I admit a little scared, but mostly just really excited to see what she's going to do with the role!!
3) My new "Simple Diary" by Keel's in Orange. The cheerful color and the silly prompts (example: "Your Day was (only choose one): Out of Order, Sauteed, or a Brother) make my life feel simplified already!
4) My first Biopsych test to be over....have you ever felt like all the help your teachers try to give you, only makes you more confused?? That's where I'm at right now, and I doubt it's a good place to be...
5) In honor of said visiting friend, I've cleaned up my room and created a little reading/whatever nook from my window seat. It looks so cute! I can't wait to wile away the cold winter hours with a cup of peppermint tea and a book :)
6) Oh and the GOLDEN GLOBES, hello!! I am counting on Natalie Portman as Best Actress for Black Swan, and Colin Firth as Best Actor for The King's Speech.

A New Year!
A lot of people get very blue when Christmas is over, but the week between Christmas and New Year's is one of my very favorite times of year. Not only do you have the oppurtunity to be lazy, lazy, lazy; it's also a great time to reflect on the past year and think about the new year.
I love making New Year's resolutions--my mom hates them and thinks that they set you up for failure, but I don't look at them that way. I think that they are guidelines for what you want to change for the new year, and whether or not you actually stick to them fully doesn't really matter as long as you have them in mind. I came up with my own little list I'd love to share!
1) Stop WORRYING: I hate to admit that I am one of those people that constantly has a nagging worry in my head. If it's not one thing, it's another! And it's usually always completely ridiculous: the more I've become aware of this habit, the easier it's been to step back and think "why am I worrying about this? Does it really matter?" and move on without worrying. This year, I want to get rid of this habit! If it's something I can take care of, I will confront it, and if it's not then I will stop letting a worry clutter my thoughts.
2) Organize My Room: You know the term "controlled chaos?" Well it is not something I can claim about my room! It's just tragic: there's stuff everywhere and I have the best idea of how it can look when it's organized, and it's time to make that a reality!
3) Join a Book Club: Self-explanatory :) I've always wanted to and I think it's time I do it!
I hope everyone had a great New Year's Eve, and I can't wait for 2011! I'm borrowing the words of my cousin Randi here: 2010 has taught me a lot, but I'm looking forward to 2011 being a brighter year of new beginnings.
